PharmaEssentia is committed to its corporate mission of "Better Science, Better Lives." We recognize that climate change poses significant challenges to public health, human well-being, and sustainable business development. Accordingly, climate-related risk management has been integrated into our corporate governance and business decision-making processes. We support the goals of the Paris Agreement to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5°C and actively align with Taiwan's 2050 Net-Zero Emissions policy.
The Company has established a target to reduce greenhouse gas emission intensity by 28% by 2030 and is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. PharmaEssentia participates in public policy discussions based on the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability. We do not support or engage in any advocacy or lobbying activities that seek to delay, weaken, or oppose climate action, the energy transition, or environmental protection policies. We also actively collaborate with government agencies, science parks, and industry organizations to promote energy conservation, greenhouse gas reduction, energy management, and the adoption of low-carbon technologies, thereby supporting the sustainable transformation of the industry. Recognizing climate change as a key sustainability issue, we continue to reduce the environmental impacts of our operations through greenhouse gas inventory management, energy efficiency improvements, process optimization, and equipment upgrades. We are also strengthening climate risk management across our supply chain by encouraging suppliers to implement energy-saving, carbon reduction, and sustainable management practices, thereby enhancing the climate resilience of our value chain. In addition, PharmaEssentia continuously monitors developments in domestic and international climate policies, regulations, and sustainability standards. We regularly review our strategies and management approaches to ensure alignment with the global transition toward a net-zero economy.
The Board of Directors serves as the highest governing body overseeing climate-related matters. The Sustainability Center, together with relevant business functions, regularly reports on climate strategies, decarbonization performance, and policy engagement to the Board. We remain committed to enhancing corporate governance, transparency, and climate resilience. In accordance with applicable regulations and internationally recognized sustainability disclosure standards, PharmaEssentia will continue to disclose information on climate governance, decarbonization progress, and significant policy engagement through our Sustainability Report and corporate website. We also maintain ongoing dialogue with investors, customers, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to jointly advance the transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable future.
